A comedy writer in a career freefall becomes convinced that he deserves more, and sets out to write his own Hollywood ending. Truth proves stranger than fiction as he implicates his family, his best friend, and a bewitching young woman to get what he thinks he’s got coming. Seduction, suspicion, and suspense become intertwined in a twisted tale of comic noir that leaves no one unscathed.
Eric Rudnick (Playwright) writes for stage, screen, and television. His plays have been produced in New York, Los Angeles, and at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. They include the three-play cycle The Edge of Allegiance which is now a web series on Funny or Die. Eric's feature-length screenplay, Hot Potato, was a finalist at the Slamdance Film Festival. His original TV pilot Circus/Maximus was optioned by Fox and Me and The People was a second rounder at the Austin Film Festival. He has worked at Playwrights Horizons, The Harold Clurman Theatre, and Ensemble Studio Theatre/LA, and is a member of The Dramatists Guild of America, The Playwrights' Center, and The Alliance of Los Angeles Playwrights.
“There is a level of denial in Los Angeles that feeds on itself. Everyone knows a career in Hollywood is a gamble, and this play asks if people can ever come to grips with the fact that a large part of gambling is losing.” - Eric Rudnick; Playwright
