The Music Man, Harold Hill, sells band instruments and uniforms to River City Citizens in 1912, although he doesn't know one note from another. Marian the librarian at first tries to expose the con artist, but later, after Harold Hill helps her brother Winthrop build his self-esteem, Marian falls in love with Harold and they all live happily ever after!
