In the great French playwright's comic masterpiece about religious hypocrisy, the wealthy Orgon is convinced that Tartuffe is a man of religious virtue. In fact, Tartuffe is a scheming hypocrite who by devious strategies gains control of Orgon's wealth and family and is about to marry Orgon's daughter.
