A unique performance of well-known speeches and lines from William Shakespeare’s plays, sonnets, and period music will be presented Friday, August 17 at 8 p.m. in Ye Olde Gym of Les Cheneaux Community Schools.

            Sonnet and Song: an evening with Shakespeare,” focuses on the Bard’s text dramatized by six actors in mime face in a sparse setting of an Elizabethan thrust stage. The evening opens with the lines “all the world’s a stage…” and explores Shakespeare’s influence on English speaking culture.

            The cast includes area artists Andy Drenth, Sarah Murray, Phillip Quinn, Karen Bledsoe, and David Murray. The performance is conceived and directed by Stephen F. Murray. Admission is free and the public is cordially invited.
