SHUT UP, SWEET CHARLOTTE!
The Art House Theatre prepares to welcome Ricky Graham and Varla Jean Merman in the Provincetown premiere of "Shut Up, Sweet Charlotte!" The play recently took two New Orleans Big Easy Awards, garnering top prizes for Best Comedy and Best Director. Now the play comes to the Provincetown stage at the Art House Theatre, located at 214 Commercial Street. Riffing in "Hush... Hush, Sweet Charlotte," the 1964 film with Bette Davis and Livia DeHavilland, this hilarious spoof features Ricky Graham in the title role, with internationally acclaimed drag artist Varla Jean Merman (known in some circles as Jeffrey Roberson) playing Cousin Miriam. 8 p.m. Mondays starting Monday, July 7 until Monday, Aug. 25.
