-           A Sold Out Weekend, As We Like It

Last weekend, As You Like It opened and performed to sold-out houses, with dozens of people turned away at the door.  As a producer, that’s certainly a wonderful experience, and it is as we like it, but not so much if you’re one of the people who didn’t get in.  Don’t let that happen to you!  Order your tickets for As You Like It now, while they’re still available.  Only eight shows remain, and they’re filling up fast.

Performances this week are tonight (Thursday, July 3rd), tomorrow and Saturday at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 1:30 p.m.  The final performances next week are Wednesday (July 9th) through Saturday (July 12th) at 7:30 p.m.  Tickets are $25 for adults, $22 for students, teachers and seniors, and $12.50 for children under 12.  As I’ve mentioned before, the July 9th performance is followed by a Talkback with the director and cast.

To reserve tickets using your VISA or MasterCard, call the box office at 504.865.5105 ext 2.  Our box office manager, Rosamaria, is available to take your reservation Tuesday - Sunday from 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. and one and a half hours prior to performance.

The Shakespeare Festival at Tulane’s 15th Season is generously sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts, Entergy Louisiana, The Lupin Foundation, The Darwin and Mary Jane Fenner Foundation, the Cahn Family Foundation, the Arts Council of New Orleans, the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival Foundation, and Whitney Bank.

-           Celebrate 4th of July with Shakespeare

We may not have fireworks in the theatre, but there are definitely sparks flying with this group of madcap lovers in the forest of Arden.  Rain or shine, what better way to end your 4th of July holiday than with the zany adventures of Orlando, Rosalind, and all the other characters of As You Like It!  Good clean fun for the entire family; it’s a regular performance at 7:30 p.m., and tickets are selling quickly, so order yours now: 504.865.5105 ext 2.

A Comment from D. H. Lawrence

When I read Shakespeare I am struck with wonder
That such trivial people should muse and thunder
            In such lovely language.
