An immersive piece staged in a house in the Bywater, ‘SARAH’ brings its audience into the living room of a woman who is losing control. She has become increasingly secretive about her deteriorating health and refuses to acknowledge the obvious signs of trouble on her body. On the night her friends decide to intervene, they find her problems are more complex than they are ready to comprehend. ‘SARAH’ traps its audience right alongside the characters inside a house where nothing is what it seems.
"SARAH" is produced in cooperation with 1239 CONGRESS. 1239 CONGRESS is converting a 2,000 square foot traditional double-shotgun house located within the Ninth Ward of New Orleans into a space that members of the community can use for collaborative and creative projects. Uses will include, but are not limited to, a culinary art space, music performance and instruction space, and community meeting space. The project will create a malleable open forum with those pursing similar community building endeavors.
