Writer, composer, and lyricist William Finn first created his musical protagonist Marvin in 1978 in "In Trousers." His next two shows focusing on Marvin and his family, "March of the Falsettos" and "Falsettoland" became the Broadway hit "Falsettos". This production was the New Orleans premiere of this landmark musical.

Marvin (Jimmy Murphy) is the father of Jason (Brian Bell), ex-husband to Trina (Chris Lusk), and patient to Dr. Mendel (Kristopher Kael). He's also lover to Whizzer (Vatican Lokey).
