AN ORIGINAL PLAY by Barry A. Lemoine
“A remarkable experience that tells the stories of your family, friends and neighbors who survived the not-so-perfect storm of 1965...”
Performing to sold out audiences in May and September of 2001 and again in September of 2004, Voices from the Storm tells the stories of your family, friends and neighbors who survived the infamous 1965 storm that besieged our community.
The play garnered two “Big Easy Award” nominations and features original footage of the devastation of the storm (via the big screen) as well as a number of vignettes and monologues on a set that is a reproduction of a New Orleans neighborhood. Many in the cast tell their firsthand accounts of Betsy with stories running the gamut of emotion including love, marriage, birth, and death.
