New playwright OTTER, doyenne of the Backyard Ballroom, delves deeper into the intertwined lives of the serenely middle-class Finemans, their ferociously ambitious daughter Lily LeBlanc, sporting house proprietor Miz Mae and her newly betrothed "working girl" Bella, spiritual counselor Ma Bess, and Bourbon Street kingpin James King in her burlesque soap opera, now up to the WWII era.
An original comedy/drama set to unfold down the decades in eight installments, "Bourbon Street, A Family History" incorporates six original songs (composed by Otter and DR JIMBO WALSH), film segments and, of course, burlesque, especially as performed by our special guests, The SLOW BURN BURLESQUE COLLECTIVE.
Four Humours director MICHAEL MARTIN has come onboard to steer this episode, his first shot at a large-cast musical. Michael and Otter welcome back, from Episode 1, SAMANTHA HUBBS, CARLOS GONZALEZ, HOLLY GEE, LOU GRAFF, MEGAN CLARK, and MIKE OBER. (Many wonderful new faces complete the cast: See below.)
