“The Scene,” a fierce, edgy, and scathing comedy by Theresa Rebeck, will open the Loyola University New Orleans 2009 spring theatre season. Enter fresh-faced and ambitious Clea. She and Charlie have a heated affair that eventually dissipates leaving Charlie with empty pockets and more emotionally, spiritually and morally adrift than ever. What once seemed absurd and surreal suddenly becomes all too real for Charlie’s lost soul.

Rebeck has also written several Hollywood scripts as well as episodes of television’s “NYPD Blue,” “Third Watch” and “Law and Order: Criminal Intent.”
“The Scene” will run Feb. 10-14 at 8 p.m. and Feb. 15 at 2 p.m. in Loyola’s Lower Depths Theatre, located in the Communications/Music Complex on the corner of St. Charles and Calhoun Streets.
