In The Baroness Undressed, the Baroness Pontalba tells the darkly humorous tale of the incredible injustices inflicted upon her by her father-in-law. In the face of great adversity, her phoenix-like journey to historic and cultural significance reflects the legendary status of the city of her birth, New Orleans.
Ms. Shortes weaves words of rhymed verse with great theatrical intensity, while symbolically removing heavy layers of an intricate 19th-century costume designed by VERONICA RUSSELL.
