Based on the original play by Aristophanes written in 405 B.C., Dionysos,the God of Drama, has decided that the world is in a state of turmoil and chaos. He ventures to Hades to bring back a great artist to speak to society and to help them get through these trying times of economic turmoil, war and social problems. Originally performed in the Yale swimming pool in 1974 and then at Lincoln Center in 2004, THE FROGS is a cautionary tale that still speaks to us today. Directed by Timothy K. Baker, THE FROGS stars Travis Resor, Bill Mader, Kevin Dares and Dustin Valdes, with guest appearances by Martin Covert as Charon & Aekos and Vatican Lokey as Pluto, God of the Underworld. The ensemble is under the Musical Direction of Karl Harrod. Performances begin November 13 at 8pm in the 3rd Floor Drama Hall of Delgado Community College, 615 City Park Avenue, New Orleans. Additional performances are November 14, 15, 19, 20, 21, and 22 at 8pm. Sunday matinees are November 16 and 23 at 3pm. General Admission is $14.00, Senior Citizens $12.00 and Student tickets are $10.00. At the final performance on November 23, all proceeds will be dedicated to the Delgado Theatre Scholarship fund with tickets priced at $10.00.
