The Loyola Department of Theatre Arts & Dance presents an evening of Musical Theatre songs about life and relationships in a cabaret style musical show entitled Love on the Rocks. The Department’s Musical Theatre II course focus’ on understanding how to “act” a song by revealing your deepest feelings, needs and vulnerabilities in your performance. The course teaches the students how to experience how moving the “truth” can be in a musical theatre performance. It's a compelling experience to watch performers really live on stage through song.
The show features songs from Company, Songs for a New World, Baby, Closer Than Ever, The Color Purple, Merrily We Roll Along, The Rink, and The Baker’s Wife just to name a few.
