Inspired by Euripides’ classic anti-war tragedy, THE TROJAN WOMEN, written by acclaimed actress and playwright Ellen McLaughlin (who originated the role of “Angel” in Angels in America) vividly recounts the final moments of Trojan civilization in the aftermath of the city’s sacking by the invading Greeks. Queen Hecuba, the slave-concubine Andromache, and the mythic Helen, meet in the ruins and together find victory in the female spirit amid the horrors visited upon them by both gods and men.

The Trojan Women
“They're not that different from us, and this is what we've done to them. This is what they're suffering because of us. That's the thing about the Greeks. They're very clear-eyed about what war is, that the people that they're killing, that they're turning into slaves and refugees, are not dissimilar from them.”
