The original piece centered on the real life death of a railway worker believed to be part of a violent anarchist group in Italy. During a police interrogation the suspect fell out of a third story window, with the official cause of death listed as an accident. In typical Fo fashion, he takes the police department to task through a duel approach of biting satire and lovable farce, whereby the officers look like corrupt idiots who will do anything to avoid paying for their crime.
In this new updated version, written and directed by Dale Buckley, all the memorable moments from the legendary comic genius are applied to a contemporary United States. Police brutality and corruption are placed under serious scrutiny, but the comedy and the fast paced nature of the piece keeps the audience engaged and laughing while they consider some serious questions about their country.
