The Hattiesburg Civic Light Opera Association was founded in 1976 by Mr. Bob Mesrobian as a volunteer community performing group. Its first production was "The Barber of Seville," performed on the stage of the Thames School Auditorium. The organization was instrumental in the restoration of the Saenger Theater, where many of its performances are held.

Now in it's 36th year, HCLO continues to enjoy the support of the community.
