Edward R. Cox, returning native New Orleanian and founding member of Treehouse Players,( http://www.stageclick.com/producer/276.aspx ) recently called central Florida home for 4 years as a full time Cast Member at Walt Disney World in the Entertainment Department as well as being honored to be part of the Character Training Department as well as film, video, television and print media personas. Multi award-winning director/designer Edward R. Cox has built an impressive career over the past four decades in the fields of theatre, Carnival design, animation and graphic art. His lively designs and brilliant artistic intrepretations have graced the stages of thousands of theatrical stages across the country as well as hundreds of Carnival Krewe's parades and ball-masques, Ballets, Operas and many more presentations throughout Louisiana and the Gulf Coast, and decorating the walls of collectors around the world.

"Edward R." began his theatrical career as a featured performer while still in the early single digit age range who quickly rose to a triple-threat star before turning his attentions to set and costume designs as well as directing theatrical productions. The recipient of several Big Easy Award nominations as well as numerous Storer Boone Awards, A.G.G.I. Awards and many more from many other associations, his theatrical portfolio is highlighted by glowing reviews for his innovative use of color and eye for intricate detail. A respected expert on children's theatre, the Teddy's Award for Excellence in Children's Theatre was created by the Board of Directors at the venerable Le Petit Theatre du Vieux Carre to recognize Edward R.'s achievements in the creation and furthering of intelligent, high quality family entertainment.

As an avid animation fan, Edward R.'s expansive collection of memorabilia and research covers nearly 80 years of the art form, from full-length features to shorts and televison, as well as cartoons and comic books, always using any artistic angle to bring to fruition a new set or prop or costume design as well as graphic poster and logo art.

Most recently, Edward R. resided in Orlando, FL the past 4 years in his capacity as a full-time Cast Member for the Walt Disney World Corporation. In the Entertainment Department he has enjoyed performing in shows and parades as well as many other capacities including close personal friends with many beloved Disney Characters as well as a highly coveted role on the character trainer team. He is a major featured Media Performer for numerous broadcasts, commercials, film and print media across the globe for the corporation including the Annual Christmas Parade broadcasts, Travel Channel and Food Channel shows amongst many others. Currently he can be found in newspaper copy and advertisments including online usages, magazines and Video/DVD and television commercials, corporate advertising media and broadcasts almost everywhere you look.

Relocating yet again, he returned to New Orleans in May to open in "By Jeeves" as "Sir Watkyn Bassett" a mere 8 days upon his hectic arrival back home. His usually ebuliant and gregarious persona will have to wait to shine after this upcoming production. With his return home, his "dance card" is filling up quickly with many shows to either direct, design, perform in and any combination thereof including his graphic designs and artwork as well as photogrpahy. Watch for "Bugsy Malone" at NORD/Gallier Hall in July and "The Frog Prince" for Shoestring Players. In the near future for this Treehouse Players' group are the cabaret "Broadway on 'da Bayou", original family musicals "The Frog Prince", "Jitterbugs" and musical versions of his hit touring non-musical original shows "Bayou Yaga", "Anansi!", as well as many other projects showing up soon. And that's not even touching on all of the Mardi Gras works including his annual WWL-TV Broadcasts as the last minute costuming expert. A busy guy...
