New Orleans own Margie O'Dair first gained prominence (and a permanent place in Louisiana radio history)as one of the stars of the legendary WWL show "Dawnbusters", alonside Al Hirt, Pinky Vidacovich, and broadcasting legend Henry Dupree. She appeared frequently on the stages at Le Petit Theatre du Vieux Carre, and for many decades lived directly next door to the theatre, serving as the unofficial guardian of the space. Onscreen, Margie created memorable performances in the films "Tightrope", where she played Clint Eastwood's kind, matronly housekeeper. Local theatre and film fans recall her unusual final scene. She also played a mugging victim in "The Big Easy." In recent years Margie retired from performing and even left her former home next to Le Petit to take up residence at The Christopher Inn. Recently, Margie was taken to Tulane Hospital with phlebitis. More updates as events warrant.
