"A play is a journey the playwright wishes an audience to be privy to and throughout this journey the writer takes his characters on a sometimes rollercoaster ride. The director's part in all this is to understand where this journey is going and to give the actors a safe, nurturing place to explore all the possible ups and downs of this ride of a lifetime.
"One of the most important skills an actor can develop is his or her ability to listen."
Since arriving in New York City in the early 70's I have directed close to 75 regional, stock and New York City productions including a full range of classic and contemporary plays and musicals including Dance of Death, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way To The Forum, Dracula, A Midsummer Night's Dream, What The Butler Saw, Uncle Vanya, The Cherry Orchard, Oedipus The King, The Fantastics, Educating Rita, Twelfth Night, After The Fall, The Father, The Doctor and the Devils, and Phyllis MacBryde's EXTRAS, (produced and directed in New York), The Roar of the Greasepaint The Smell of the Crowd, and Titus Andronicus. Early on in my career he served as an associate to Wynn Handman at The American Place Theatre, master carpenter at Goodspeed Opera House, stage manager at LaMama, Etc., Artistic Director of A Renaissance Theatre (Pittsburgh). Exceptional notice was given by Back Stage, The Village Voice and the New York Post for his production (director and producer) of the off-Broadway production of the American Premiere of Dylan Thomas’ The Doctor and The Devils.
Mr. Logan-Morrow studied at Ohio University and the RSC and has had the privilege of studying with some of the finest including Peter Frisch, John Barton, Michael Howard, Rex McGraw, Paul Austin, John Stix, Judith Farris, Keith Davis, Elinor Renfield.
I am a member of AEA, SAG, AFTRA and The Dramatists Guild, Inc.
Currently I am involved as book writer/lyricist for a new Musical -- PARSIFAL, THE MAGICIAN.
I am also looking for a workshop production of a new play I've written, THE LAST T-DANCE. For more info on this play, please send email.
