John Frederick "Jack" Gurley passed away on Friday, February 13, 2009 at his home in New Orleans, LA. He was 75 years old. He was born in Memphis, TN and lived most of his life New Orleans. He graduated with a Fine Arts Degree from Memphis Art Academy. Jack was in advertising and acted as the Creative Art Director for D.H. Holmes and Maison Blanche, when he first moved to New Orleans. He was an actor with Little Theatre and Gallery Circle in the 1960's. Upon retirement he did tours at New Orleans Wax Museum. He had an incredible wit, a generous heart and soul, he loved to entertain his friends and family with his many stories. Jack was predeceased in death by his parents, Catherine & Frederick Gurley. He is survived by his daughters: Cece Funck (Bob), and Elizabeth Fox (John); his grandchildren: Kyle and Kathleen Funck; his ex wife, Clelie Ducros; and many friends. His daughters are forever grateful to his friend James who provided much comfort and care to Jack at the end of his life.
