In the spring of 2003, "The Sugar Bean Sisters" enjoyed a critically acclaimed run at Company of Angels Theatre in Los Angeles. "L.A. Weekly" called it "a wildly funny script" while "The Los Angeles Times" simply declared the play "hilarious!" Selections from "The Sugar Bean Sisters" have been published in "One On One: The Best Women's Monologues of the Nineties" by Applause Books. The full script is published by Dramatic Publishing Company. San Jose Stage Company presented the Northern California premiere of "The Sugar Bean Sisters" in the fall of 2005. Upcoming productions include Riverwalk Theatre in Lansing, MI and the Water Tower Theatre in Addison, TX.
A staged-reading of Nathan's play, "Little by Little", was presented in December 2004 at the Ivar Theatre in Hollywood. Tony Dow directed an all-star cast that included Meredith Eaton ("Boston Legal") and film legend Piper Laurie. Nathan's new one-act play, "Sweet Jesus!" was presented as a staged-reading at the Marsh, a "breeding ground for new performance" in San Francisco. The world premiere was presented at Pegasus Theatre Company in Monte Rio, CA and subsequently produced by Three Wise Monkeys & Thunderbird Theatre Co. and presented at the 6th Annual BOA Festival at the Eureka Theatre in San Francisco in March of 2007. The play is published in the BOA Festival Anthology of One-Act Plays Vol. 6.
Nathan's most recent play, "The Sugar Witch", Part II in "The Sugar Bean Trilogy" of plays, will have its world premiere at Northside Theatre Company in San Jose, California. The production opens October 4, 2007.
