Metairie, LA – ATNO is happy to be celebrating their second anniversary with Judith Guest’s Ordinary People (the film version of this book, won four Academy Awards) dramatized by Nancy Gilsenan and directed by
René J. F. Piazza, with performances August 10-25, Thursday through Saturday at 7:30 p.m. with Sunday matinees on August 12 and 19 at 2:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $18 for adults and $16 for students, seniors and children. (Note: New Ticket price increase effective August 10, 2007)
Ordinary People is the story of Conrad Jarrett who had an older brother named Buck, and now Buck is gone. What's left of young Conrad's family, with his successful well-intentioned father and his beautiful, organized and remote mother, is in terrible jeopardy, as is Conrad himself. They are all "ordinary people" and each is fighting a hard battle. This play goes to the essence of a young man, his friends and family, their relationships and survival. Piazza directs Andy LaRocca, Morrey McElroy, Randy Maggiore, Tim Bellow, Matt Carroll, Zak Moses, Cody Noverola, Shannon Stuntz, and Chelsea Moreau.
