The Full Monty
The Full Monty almost needs no introduction. The British comedy about unemployed steelworkers who turn to stripping for a little cash was a hit both in the original film version (1997) and as a Broadway show, with the setting changed to Buffalo, New York. And what could be more uplifting than the notion that stripping is a lucrative and mind-opening path to a better life, or that one doesn't need to be particularly buff to take it off for money. But it's just good clean fun when these guys realize they can take control of their lives and face any challenge. This uninhibited show kicks off Le Petit's 2006-07 season, comprised entirely of musicals, including the New Orleans original One Mo' Time. Following Katrina, Le Petit installed a brand new orchestra pit and made some minor repairs. Tickets $28 general admission, $25 students. -- Will Coviello
